Which companies are hiring the most technologists as we move through early 2022? A new analysis suggests that the usual suspects—healthcare, defense, and technology—are hiring thousands of technologists to bolster their current workforces.
This latest data comes from Emsi Burning Glass, which collects and analyzes millions of job postings from across the country. Based on an analysis of the past 60 days, it’s clear that Amazon is still in the middle of its massive hiring spree—but other companies aren’t far behind. Check out the chart:
Over the past several months, Amazon has been consistently on the hunt for technologists skilled in software development, Java, Amazon Web Services (AWS) (of course), C++ and Python. The company is also Amazon is also interested in highly advanced skills such as cloud, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (A.I.).
Other companies on this list have similar needs. Healthcare, finance, and other industries that regularly deal with enormous datasets have particular need for data scientists, data analysts, and other technologists who can help store, structure, move, and analyze data for crucial insights.
According to the latest analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data by CompTIA, the tech unemployment rate hit 1.7 percent in January—down from 2 percent in December. “By all accounts this was an exceptionally strong start to the year for tech employment,” Tim Herbert, chief research officer at CompTIA, wrote in a statement accompanying the organization’s analysis at the time. It also means that demand for technologists across multiple industries could continue for quite some time to come—especially at those companies that need thousands of developers, engineers, sysadmins, and other specialists in order to build and maintain critical systems.
