Manufacturing Tech Hiring Tips
1
One thing we’ve learned from working with our manufacturing clients is just how interesting and varied the work can be. Do what you can to showcase the environments where they’ll be working, the specifics on the interesting projects they’ll be asked to complete, and the impact and outcomes they will drive in doing so.
2
Tech professionals who can enable manufacturers to up-level their core processes with software and automation will be near the top of the list. Work to build out your contact list with candidates who have these skills, as well as skills related to data science and analytics.
3
Given the nature and constant evolution of the manufacturing industry, focus on the tech professionals in your lists (or on Dice) who are eager for on-the-ground work in frontline roles. Because manufacturing might be new to them as an industry (especially for companies outside of the biggest names), you may be spending a bit more time educating candidates on manufacturing as a whole in your first few conversations.
